Farewell to Concorde

It was -- and still is -- a marvel of technology and a monument to the best of the 20th century. It was romantic and flamboyant and arrogant. It was so much more than just another airplane. For all these reasons, the passing of the Concorde, the world's only supersonic passenger aircraft, is noted with genuine regret. For 27 years, it ruled the skies as the undisputed first-class way to cross the Atlantic. Supersonic flight will no doubt one day return when economics allow it.
